About the role

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is hiring a Area Services Manager to join our team. This position will be based out of our Delta, BC facility and offers a company vehicle and benefits from day one. The expected annual salary range for this role is $128,000 - 160,000 a year.

What You’ll Do The Area Services Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day field service business and personnel. In addition, this position will support the regional sales force in penetrating the regional markets through control of price and with an emphasis on value and service to the customer. This role covers a diverse portfolio including industrial, commercial, and institutional clients.

Eaton’s Engineering Service & Systems division team brings extensive skills and experiences to field service engineering. We assist customers at every stage of the power system: offering start-up and commissioning of equipment, performing planned maintenance, monitoring performance, diagnosing system problems remotely, as well as responding to emergencies on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year.

About the Delta, BC Location Our Delta-Satellite is a key hub for Eaton’s electrical sector in Canada, hosting essential departments and supporting a collaborative, innovative work environment. Its proximity to major highways and public transport provides convenient access, while nearby parks and recreational facilities offer options for relaxation and wellness.

In This Function You Will Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, recruit, and develop a skilled field service team (including Red Seal Electricians and apprentices).
  • Oversee staffing, training, talent assessment, goal setting, performance appraisal, and retention.
  • Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

Operational Management

  • Manage and coordinate service programmes to optimise customer service and market penetration.
  • Oversee project completion, ensuring adherence to safety, budget, and timeline requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), backlog management, and implement process improvements.
  • Handle escalation procedures and make informed business decisions in a 24/7 service environment.

Sales & Customer Relations

  • Act as a sales and marketing agent in conjunction with sales and operations management.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships, resolve complaints, and support strategic planning.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers on technical and service-related issues.
  • Grow relationships with municipalities, consultant firms, contractors, and distributors.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict compliance with safety policies and regulatory electrical codes.
  • Implement safety programmes, provide necessary safety equipment, and oversee disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Champion a culture of safety through regular field discoveries and training sessions.

Business & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage profit plans, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Oversee procurement, inventory management, receivables, and cost control.
  • Participate in commercial reviews and strategic planning to support market growth.

Technical Excellence

  • Serve as a technical resource for service operations, offering expert guidance and support.
  • Mentor and provide backup for field personnel, customers, and the sales team.
  • Lead product/process improvement initiatives and share best practices across regions.

Site & Regional Coordination

  • Interface with customers, sales force, manufacturing plants, product division management, and support staff.
  • Coordinate with plants, business units, and outside vendors to procure parts and services.
  • Support multi-national customers and industries through effective teaming across districts.

Qualifications Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree required, preferably in electrical industry.
  • 5+ years of Supervisory experience leading remote team members.
  • 10 years of experience in a service, sales or engineering role within the electrical industry.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of management experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, control products, as well as field service practices and procedures, employee relations and quality programs.
  • Profit and Loss ledger accountability and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and resolve complaints.
  • Knowledge of electrical industry safety practices and regulatory electrical codes, standards and permits.
  • Working knowledge of electrical power distribution equipment design, installation and maintenance including medium and low voltage power circuit breakers, metal-clad & enclosed switchgear, protective relaying and control, medium and low voltage control is a key asset.
  • Broad understanding of market channel relationships and processes.
  • Developing and implementing growth plans and conducting competition/ market analysis to drive product development efforts.
  • Experience in the development of incremental business opportunities in the Industrial, Utility, Government, and Institutional markets.
