About the role

Join Beacon Community Services as the WorkBC Policy and Training Coordinator and play a key role in ensuring quality and consistency across our WorkBC Employment Services programs. In this role, you’ll support and train new Client Advisors, provide guidance on WorkBC policies and procedures, and help strengthen program integrity and compliance. You’ll also coordinate reporting, review cases to ensure billing accuracy, and assist in interpreting and applying WorkBC policy to day-to-day operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the WorkBC Manager, the WorkBC Policy and Training Coordinator will provide training to new Client Advisors and support to the WorkBC team regarding WorkBC policy and processes. They support the WorkBC program through the coordination of reporting and by reviewing cases on a regular basis to ensure billing is maximized.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train new Client Advisors on current policies and procedures
  • Provide support & technical assistance to WorkBC Client Advisors regarding program, policies and procedures
  • Administers best practices to ensure program operational integrity
  • WorkBC policy investigation and interpretation
  • Ongoing refinement of Beacon’s WorkBC manual, as required
  • Preparation of Occupation Skills Training (OST) and Short Duration Training (SDT) applications, and amendments, review of student’s completed Attendance Verification forms and any other documentation needing review related to these two types of applications
  • Review & audit all Client Advisor cases regularly as determined by WorkBC Contract Manager
  • Coordinates with WorkBC Contract Manager for Ministry requests for Data Quality, Assurance & Risk and other ad-hoc reports for the Director’s review and approval(following up & directing manager on missing or incorrect information)
  • In coordination with the team, advises manager on the analysis of BI Portal & ICM reports
  • Prepare reports and proposals required using technical language
  • Other related services as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field and a combination of education and experience
  • Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) or Career Counselor Certification preferred
  • 3 years' experience in career development and case management of clients
  • 3 years' experience working with unemployed individuals, including those with barriers to employment and disabilities to assess needs and coordinate Client support and services

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and social skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong working knowledge of WorkBC Policies and ICM
