Your Opportunity
An opportunity is available in our Vancouver office for a well-rounded CAD Designer to join a dynamic team delivering professional services to clients in the Transportation sector. This role offers a unique scope of work, with opportunities to collaborate with our Ports & Marine team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of structural engineering principles and strong technical AutoCAD, Civil 3D and familiarity with Revit.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Perform technical tasks on projects under the supervision of the Project Manager or Project Engineer.
- Transform preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs and drawings using primarily AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and other technical software as required.
- Ensure adherence to Revit and AutoCAD standards, as well as quality assurance and quality control procedures during drawing, planning, and production.
- Contribute to team meetings, design collaborations, project schedule estimations, and coordinate findings with others involved in projects.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required; experience with and Revit software is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding and proficiency in AutoTURN is also considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills, with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, and a collaborative team mindset.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Thorough understanding of applicable design guidelines and codes for relevant jurisdictions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments effectively.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Education and Experience
- Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing design support for bridge, ports and marine, or transportation related projects.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:
- Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$72,300.00 - $104,800.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
