Casual Rehabilitation Assistant – Surrey, BC
Are you passionate about helping seniors live their best lives? Morgan Creek Seniors Community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Casual Rehabilitation Assistant to support our residents in achieving their mobility, wellness, and rehabilitation goals within a Long-Term Care environment.
What You’ll Do
Support Therapists:
Assist in carrying out established treatment programs and therapeutic activities under the direction of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
Empower Residents:
Support residents with ambulation, transfers, positioning, restorative exercises, and safe use of mobility and rehabilitation equipment while promoting independence and dignity.
Maintain Excellence:
Set up, clean, and maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
Document & Communicate:
Record resident participation, progress, and observations, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team.
Teamwork:
Transport residents to and from treatment areas and assist with related clerical duties including inventory management, equipment tracking, and documentation support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or equivalent related healthcare education.
- Current certification in CPR/First Aid preferred.
- Previous experience working in Long-Term Care, Assisted Living, or with seniors is required.
- Experience supporting residents with mobility challenges, restorative programs, dementia, and complex care needs is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of safe body mechanics, transfers, lifts, and mobility equipment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
