Position Summary This role serves as a strategic advisor to People & Culture leadership and stakeholders, using data-driven insights to address complex organizational challenges. It plays a key role in shaping how data is understood, interpreted, and applied across UHN to support effective decision-making. The position focuses on collaborating across the organization to assess business needs and translate them into meaningful analytics solutions. The incumbent in this role transforms data into actionable, compelling insights that shape strategy and deliver meaningful impact.
Duties
- Act as a strategic analytics partner to People & Culture leadership and stakeholders across UHN, providing guidance on asking the right questions, selecting metrics, and interpreting/analyzing results.
- Identify opportunities to leverage people data to solve problems, improve processes, and inform business decisions across the organization.
- Serve as a liaison between end-users of people data and the BI & Reporting team to gather feedback and ensure data solutions meet stakeholder needs.
- Lead and manage strategic initiatives and projects informed by people data, including defining scope, identifying stakeholders, and overseeing implementation.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations through clear visualizations, reports, and presentations.
- Communicate analytical findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels using clearly defined methodologies.
- Assist in the design, creation, and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and other data products, collaborating with HRIS analysts to model and extract data as needed.
- Support the development and implementation of People & Culture data strategy and governance, including environmental scanning, KPI definition, and tracking to align with organizational goals.
- Perform cross-functional duties and other assignments consistent with the job classification as required.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or another area related to analytics.
- Minimum of 4 years experience working in People Analytics, or in an HR role with a focus on analytics.
- Strong understanding of Human Resources principles, practices, people analytics and business processes within large organizations.
- Excellent project management and change management skills. Ability to lead multiple, competing strategic priorities to execution.
- Advanced applied skills and knowledge in Power BI, Tableau or other business intelligence and visualization tools.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Excel and general data analysis/cleaning techniques to understand implementation feasibility and limitations and turn complex data into actionable insights.
- Deep familiarity with HR metrics and a conceptual understanding of how data is collected and analyzed (e.g., able to explain and pick suitable HR metrics and can explain limitations and implications).
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in healthcare is considered an asset, but is not required.
