About the role

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Child welfare. Education or training. Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders). Socio-economic needs or conditions (housing, nutrition, unemployment, financial assistance). Programs dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Programs dealing with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Work setting: Community agency. Social and family service agency. Tasks: Prepare reports or case histories. Administrative and office activities. Perform administrative tasks. Implement life skills workshops. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community. Supervise children's visits with parents to ensure their safety. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Develop service intervention logic models and outcome measures. Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals working with a client group. Refer clients to agencies that provide financial assistance, legal aid, housing, medical treatment and other services. Plan programs of assistance for clients. Leading/instructing groups. Interview client individually, in families, or in groups, to assess their situation and problems to determine the types of services required . Develop prevention and intervention programs to meet community needs. Supervision: Working groups. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Cultural Awareness Training. First Aid Certificate. Target audience: Culturally diverse groups. Families. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office. Functional expertise: Regulation or legislation policy interpretation and implementation. Area of work experience: Community service organization. Health.
