  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work fluidly across technical and non-technical teams
  • Expert-level SQL and strong experience with scripting (Python preferred) for automation and data workflow orchestration
  • Hands-on experience building data models and dashboards in BI tools like Looker, Mode, Tableau, Superset, automation tools Streamlit, Airflow, data modelling dbt

  • Experience working in environments with a blend of consumer tech and financial services (e.g. AI, lending, credit, payments)

What the job involves

  • We’re hiring a Data Analytics Lead - Strategic Finance (FP&A). This is a high-impact role, at the intersection of finance, data, and strategy
  • Reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance, you’ll be responsible for building the insight delivery systems, models, and automations that power decision-making across FP&A, and long-term financial strategy
  • You’ll work closely with Product, Data, Engineering, and the CEO’s office, turning data into actionable insights that accelerate decision-making at every level of the business
  • While supported by an established Commercial Analytics team, this is the first role fully dedicated to owning and scaling the automation and intelligence layer within Strategic Finance
  • You’ll architect and scale the models, tools, and systems that surface critical insights and enable faster, smarter decisions across the business
  • This is an individual contributor role with future leadership potential - perfect for someone who wants to own end-to-end systems today and grow into building a team tomorrow
  • Build predictive models and decision-support tools driving our financial statements - from revenue, gross profit, operating costs, and cashflow
  • Turn one-off strategic analyses into scalable, self-serve tools — powering decision-making across scenario planning, LTV modelling, cohort analysis, pricing, and capital allocation
  • Work cross-functionally with Data, Product, and Engineering to define and maintain data models that power both executive-level insight and operational decisioning
  • Automate recurring finance workflows such as investor reporting, covenant tracking, performance pacing, and financial close tasks
  • Create intelligent, automated reporting workflows for financial and operational metrics - think trading updates, forecast variance analysis, board KPIs, and more
  • Own the architecture for insight delivery - dashboards, semantic layers, and data pipelines that serve as the foundation for financial and strategic reporting
  • Act as the technical bridge within Strategic Finance, enabling faster, smarter decisions through automation, intelligent tooling, and scalable systems
  • Champion data governance and documentation to ensure consistency, trust, and clarity across all internal and external reporting

Benefits

  • Meaningful equity with early exercise, plus top-ups on promotion
  • Up to 26 weeks’ parental leave

  • Annual company off-sites
  • Company-wide performance reviews every 6 months
  • Clear progression plans with opportunities to lead, grow, and challenge the status quo
  • We’ll cover your OpenAI subscription

About Cleo

Cleo. Where AI meets money.

Cleo launched in 2016 by people who have been burned by banks. Fed up with the broken system, we decided it was time to make a change.

Since then, the cost of living has skyrocketed, the rich have continued getting richer, and our vision has only become clearer.

Our mission? To change the world's relationship with money.

Cleo is a platform for the 99% – an AI assistant defining a new category, one that goes beyond saving and budgets to actually changing how we feel about our finances.

Using simplicity and humor, she’s helped millions of people improve their relationship with money, because we believe that everyone has the potential to achieve financial well-being in just one generation.

Through a personalized chat, she provides you with deep insight about your money and tailored financial tools that increase your ability to save, all while making you laugh.

We’re a product for the next generation. That means that we are committed to inclusive and unbiased financial growth for all. It also means dropping the BS.

In the past year or so we’ve grown the Cleo team from 100 to 250+, and closed a $80m Series C led by Sofina (that’s a $500M valuation).

Want to get involved?

You know that awful feeling when you wake up wondering if what you’re about to do for the next 8 hours actually matters? That doesn’t happen here much.

Everything we do is grounded in purpose. And because we’re all showing up for the same reason, collaboration comes easy.

We have a culture of stepping up. We want, and expect you to grow and develop. You’ll have our support in everything you do. But more importantly, you’ll have our trust.

We treat our people as humans first, employees second, which means giving everyone a voice. All perspectives are embraced here.
