SUMMARY: Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware and software, troubleshooting user issues, managing large corporate networks, hybrid infrastructure and ensuring the secure and reliable operation of the organization’s IT systems and equipment. The role also includes responding to support requests, diagnosing problems using specialized tools, implementing effective solutions, and documenting technical processes to support business operations 24/7.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer and assist IT infrastructure services and manage day-to-day IT Operations, ensuring reliable performance across servers, workstations, networks devices, and applications.
  • Oversee corporate networks, and hybrid cloud environments to maintain operational efficiency, security, and data integrity.
  • Establish, document, and enforce IT policies, standards, and response procedures to support organizational compliance and resilience.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, proactively addressing issues to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity.
  • Ensure secure operations by conducting regular security assessments, applying updates, and responding to cybersecurity risks.
  • Coordinate IT service delivery across multiple offices, retail sites, and remote teams to support seamless collaboration.
  • Support critical 24/7 plant operations and production lines, aligning IT services with safety and operational requirements.
  • Partner with leadership to prioritize IT initiatives, escalating high-impact issues to vendors or management as necessary.
  • Contribute to organizational change by following ITIL best practices and participating in structured change management processes.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot a broad range of devices including tablets, handhelds, telephones, cellphones, cameras, security systems, MDM, printers, plotters, and UPS.
  • Administer Active Directory and Azure Cloud Services for user and device management.
  • Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN, VLAN, SAN, VPN, WiFi, network devices, IoT and VoIP devices.
  • Conduct detailed network monitoring and optimization for traffic, performance, and reliability.
  • Perform data backups, disaster recovery operations, storage management, and system cloning.
  • Execute vulnerability scanning, apply security patches, and enforce quality controls.
  • Provide helpdesk and ITSM support to a user base of over 250 employees and 750 IT assets.
  • Manage IT asset lifecycle, including deployment, inventory tracking, and decommissioning of old hardware and software.
  • Perform miscellaneous IT duties as required to ensure smooth IT operations.
  • Support and maintain IT equipment in manufacturing and engineering environments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency with Windows Server 2022/2016/2012 and Windows 10/11 Workstations
  • Experience with Virtualization, VMware vSphere, computer hardware, application software, and database software
  • Demonstrated experience in network switching and routing, firewall and intrusion detection, threat management, prevention systems, network tools, security tools, and network protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and hybrid cloud environments
  • Understanding of system, network, and cloud security best practices
  • College degree or diploma in Information Technology (3–4 years)
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant IT experience
  • Nice to have certifications: CompTIA A+, Cisco, MCSA, Azure or equivalent are a plus.
