The Canadian Immigration Consultant is a key member of the firm’s Canadian practice, responsible for advising corporate clients and foreign nationals on Canadian immigration strategies and managing complex immigration matters from assessment through filing and adjudication. The Consultant works closely with attorneys, clerks, and global mobility teams to ensure that cases are prepared in compliance with Canadian immigration laws and regulations while maintaining the firm’s high standards of client service. This position is open to applicants in Canada only.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess eligibility for Canadian immigration programs and provide strategic guidance to corporate clients and foreign nationals regarding work permits, permanent residence pathways, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and submit Canadian immigration applications, including work permits, LMIA applications, provincial nominee program applications, and permanent residence submissions.
  • Provide guidance to employers regarding Canadian immigration compliance obligations, including employer portal submissions, labour market requirements, and regulatory considerations.
  • Oversee clerks in drafting detailed support letters, legal submissions, and government forms in accordance with IRCC and provincial immigration requirements.
  • Communicate directly with clients to provide updates, explain application requirements, and address questions related to immigration processes.
  • Monitor changes to Canadian immigration laws, policies, and program delivery instructions and advise internal teams and clients of relevant updates.
  • Collaborate with internal case managers, attorneys, and global teams to coordinate immigration strategies for multinational clients.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure that all filings and documentation comply with regulatory and firm standards.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional education.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Canadian immigration law preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian immigration programs, including work permits, LMIA processes, and permanent residence pathways.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and case management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex immigration processes clearly to clients.

Salary may vary based on location and experience. The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 CAD.
