About the role

Alabaster Group is a leading Vancouver-based real estate development company recognized for its commitment to timeless design, architectural integrity, and community-centered living. Since its founding in 2014, Alabaster has earned a strong reputation for delivering thoughtfully crafted townhomes, condominiums, and mixed-use residences across Metro Vancouver. With a vertically integrated platform and a design-first, community focused philosophy, Alabaster has emerged as one of the region’s most distinctive residential developers—valued for its hands-on approach, enduring quality, and deep-rooted sense of place. In recent years, Alabaster has also diversified into new product types such as operating secured purpose-built rental housing and also launching two new businesses: Multiplex, focusing on building 3-6 family-oriented dwellings on single lots, and Pavilion Cowork, a premium flex office brand that is now opening its 4th location in Calgary and on a trajectory of rapid growth.

Alabaster is now seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic financial leader for the role of Vice President, Real Estate Finance. This is a senior leadership position that will oversee the company’s capital strategy, both equity and debt, and deal structuring across a dynamic and growing portfolio. The VP will lead all aspects of project finance, including deal structuring, investor reporting, acquisition support, and risk management, serving as the organization’s financial architect through the full lifecycle of development.

Reporting to the CFO and overseeing a small team of 3, the VP will have an opportunity to influence high-impact projects at every stage—from early acquisition underwriting to structuring complex equity and debt arrangements, to stewarding relationships with institutional and high-net-worth investors. The VP will work closely with senior leadership to shape long-term investment strategy, ensure financial rigor, and support Alabaster’s vision for sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate has had a progressive corporate finance career with proven background structuring LP/GP deals and complex financings. This experience would ideally have been gained within another development or real estate investment organization or also have been gained from a family office, private equity or infrastructure environment where they have seen a variety of deal and financing structures. They bring a strong foundation in financial modeling, capital structuring, and risk management, alongside a proven ability to manage investor relations and navigate complex transactions. Comfortable in both strategic and executional roles, they are known for their financial acumen, sound judgment, and ability to thrive in entrepreneurial, high-performance environments.

This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic boutique developer – one that has the track record, experience, and foundations to grow and work on interesting projects but still provide an environment that is entrepreneurial, flat, collaborative and a chance for the VP to truly impact the strategic direction of an organization.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is $180,000 plus bonus and benefits but may vary based on the successful candidate.
