Come join the Workplace Services & Real Estate Team at Alberta Energy Regulator (AER)! The person in this role will complete a variety of tasks making each day a little different. These tasks will be completed by providing internal and external customers with supporting reconfiguration of workstations, identifying hazards in the workspace, cleanliness and organization of common areas, trouble shooting printer issues as well as backing up the mailroom.

If you can multi-task administrative responsibilities, problem solve and have experience with moving furniture, you may just be the perfect candidate!

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections of facilities to ensure a clean, functional, and safe environment. Perform general office maintenance and minor workstation configurations as required. Provide support for office moves, additions and changes (MAC), onboarding and offboarding workspace clean up and updates, ensuring timely execution and compliance with workspace standards. Address and troubleshoot minor issues, identifying hazards and ensuring quick resolution.
  • Respond to internal workplace service requests focusing on quality control and adherence to established processes. Maintain and oversee meeting room, kitchens, print rooms, printers, common areas, storage rooms and other shared spaces.
  • Responsible for responding to printer device related service requests. Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to be accountable for the coordination of necessary service measure for print operation and maintenance issues. Address multi-functional print service requests, liaise with external vendor for repair, operating various printers as needed and maintaining inventory for insurance reporting and coordinate external print requests as needed.
  • Provide back up to office supply orders, assist with incoming and outgoing mail processes, including deliveries, courier services, registered mail, government couriers and large shipments. Assist with financial deposits, mail sorting, confidential record handling and mail runs as required.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • High school diploma with 3 years related facility maintenance or warehouse environment experience.
  • Experience with multi-functional printers required and systems furniture / demountable wall systems required.
  • Experience in workplace services, office maintenance, and warehouse environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software (Excel, Outlook, Word, Adobe, etc.) and ability to execute tasks in fast-paced settings.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Pre-placement Medical is required

  • Possess a fully valid class 5 driver’s license along with a positive driving record.

  • Required physical demands: ability to lift 50lbs or more using proper technique, moving and lifting furniture, ability to complete physical tasks daily. Lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing, walking, carrying, standing, crouching, squatting, kneeling, balancing, laying, crawling, forward bending, or rotating.

  • Additional training if required or provided: First Aid
