THE OPPORTUNITY
This position is responsible for providing strategic procurement support to the internal and external stakeholders/business partners to ensure simplified, cost effective, and strategic procurement outcomes.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide end to end guidance and support on a variety of procurement processes such as Request for Quotations (RFQs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and Request for Supplier Qualifications (RFSQ)

Provide procurement-related services in a fast-paced high-volume environment and assist in the overall service delivery
-
Prepare and issue procurement documents, memos, pricing spreadsheets, reports, presentations, and other correspondence as needed
-
Set up and participate in phone or video conference calls using conference bridges, Zoom, Webex or other similar tools
-
Prepare Purchase Orders, maintain procurement records and generate meaningful reports from the Purchase Order system as needed

Consult with client/end user groups to source, create and maintain Approved Service Provider (ASP) Rosters for various services
-
Manage responses from suppliers and respond to all inquiries as needed. Communicate the selection of the awarded Respondent internally and externally

Facilitate the debriefing process for unsuccessful RFP respondents when requested
CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
-
An undergraduate degree with CPPB or CSCMP designation desired or equivalent experience
-
Good understanding and knowledge of public procurement principles, methods and practices
-
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in procurement, strategic sourcing and supplier management, preferably in a government organization
-
A creative thinker able to take direction with a good understanding of business needs
-
Ability to work remotely from home for the foreseeable future
-
High attention to detail, demonstrated ability to produce high quality work
-
Excellent co-ordination, prioritization and analytical skills necessary for an often-changing environment, to achieve stated goals and objectives
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills Good interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise good judgment, tact and discretion

Ability to work with highly confidential information in a mature and professional manner

Can work effectively and make decisions in an environment with shifting demands and change

Experience with electronic Purchase Order Systems and Microsoft Office tools
RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Works collaboratively and develops and maintains good working relationships within CreateTO

Develops and maintains effective and positive working relationships with various City departments and agencies as well as external contacts, City Councilors, service providers, financial institutions, professional organizations, and clients

Develops and maintains positive relationships with community groups and stakeholders in the City of Toronto
