About the role

As a key player in the financial services marketplace of Northern Ontario, we are excited to announce that we are currently seeking a Business Analyst.

The Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting organizational growth and operational excellence by collaborating with business leaders to understand operational needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver solutions that align with strategic objectives. 

Working closely with stakeholders and project teams, the Business Analyst gathers, analyzes, documents, and validates business requirements through workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions. They develop business requirements, process maps, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria to ensure business needs are clearly defined and effectively translated into actionable solutions.

This role evaluates current business processes, conducts root cause analysis, and recommends improvements that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and the overall member experience. The Business Analyst supports continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize processes and implement sustainable solutions.

The Business Analyst also contributes to project planning, business case development, solution implementation, and change adoption. They participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validate business requirements throughout the project lifecycle, document issues and gaps, and help measure project outcomes to ensure business objectives and expected benefits are achieved.

Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Project Management, or a related field. 
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, project support, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations and findings effectively.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business requirements, including developing business requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across business and project teams.
  • Experience analyzing current-state and future-state business processes, conducting root cause analysis, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting project planning, solution implementation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Knowledge of Lean or other continuous improvement methodologies is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $58,400.00 to $73,000.00
