TEMPORARY ELECTRICIAN
The Burnaby School District is looking to hire a Temporary Electrician to work throughout the district. This position installs, maintains, repairs, and tests a variety of electrical/electronic systems and equipment to ensure the safety and operation of district buildings and facilities. The position is Temporary, but works 40 hours/week. End date is to be determined.
Applicants Must Have
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent Electrical Trades Qualification (TQ) Four years related work experience post-TQ Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5)
Applicants Are Expected To Have
Thorough knowledge of construction and construction safety practices Experience in reading blueprints Recent BC Electrical Code training/refresher The physical condition and health to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job (including climbing ladders/scaffolds, working in crawl/confined spaces, and lifting and carrying heavy materials/ objects) Good interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills
Applicants Must Be
Knowledgeable of safety procedures and materials, methods and equipment related to electrical A self-starter with an ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member of a team
This position pays $42.51 per hour, complemented by a benefits package which includes dental and extended health benefits, paid sick time, vacation pay, education fund and other incentives.

Schools The Burnaby School District operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, including a range of district and provincial resource programs. During the summer months, our District provides students the opportunity to take various courses. Summer session is an opportunity for teachers, who choose to, to continue working during the summer months.
Students The Burnaby School District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners.
