You take pride in architecting scalable, reliable automated solutions and championing modern testing practices that keep engineering velocity high while ensuring product confidence. Your collaborative approach maximizes software testability and streamlines quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, reusable automated testing frameworks, tools, and scripts to validate complex software systems using industry standards tools

  • Partner directly with developers, business systems analysts and product owners to clarify acceptance criteria, promote high-impact unit testing, and align on quality benchmarks

  • Own the ongoing health and expansion of our automated regression suite, with a particular focus on increasing integration and API coverage

  • Lead in the development of new enhancements to test frameworks and infrastructure: support efficient CI/CD practices, reduce feedback loops, and optimize performance testing - positioning QA as an engineering force multiplier

  • Shape the long-term automation roadmaps and champion a quality-first culture through metrics and process improvements

  • Encourage shifting left; embed testing best practices into every stage of development, advocating for a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility

  • Manage defect discovery through resolution by providing clear, actionable feedback to streamline bug lifecycles

  • Evaluate application performance and coordinate targeted load and scalability testing as needed

  • Inspire and mentor QA team members, fostering an environment of continuous technical growth, inclusive collaboration, and leadership within the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related technical field

  • 5+ years of professional experience in quality engineering or software development, with a sharp focus on backend systems, ideally inFinTech,B2C SaaS, or regulated environments

  • Expert-level Java skills; hands-on experience with automation frameworks like Junit, JMeter, or TestNG is an asset. Experience with API testing and contract testing (e.g. Pact) is highly valued

  • A meticulous attention to detail and proven ownership over the entire product quality lifecycle

  • Extensive experience creating detailed test plans, writing comprehensive test cases, and prioritizing test coverage

  • Working knowledge of observability platforms (e.g. DataDog or OpenTelemetry) for monitoring and root cause analysis

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and cloud-native environments (e.g. AWS, GCP, Kubernetes)

  • Collaborative mindset, innovation-driven, and ready to elevate the QA function alongside a growing team

  • Using AI assistants to generate test ideas, boilerplate code, and synthetic test data, and then critically review outputs

  • Understanding of AI-powered testing tools (self-healing locators, smart test generation)

  • Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) is an asset

  • Ability to integrate or adopt AI tools in day-to-day tasks

Salary Range

$100,000 – $125,000

Final compensation is determined by market conditions, location, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and education. This role may also be eligible for performance-based incentive programs and total compensation may include variable incentives, such as bonuses and commissions.
