An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for the release (certification) of an aircraft after maintenance, inspection, repair, or modification. This role requires a high degree of responsibility and technical skill.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance on aircraft or aircraft components.
• Perform all maintenance activities in accordance with applicable standards of airworthiness.
• Ensure all paperwork for assigned tasks is complete and accurate.
• Ensure all maintenance installations meet airworthiness standards.
• Troubleshoot faulty systems and determine corrective actions.
• Travel with aircraft when assigned away from base, as required.
• Assist with sheet metal and avionics repairs as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with strong observation, decision-making, and time management.
• Communicate effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain a safe and clean hangar/work area.
• Support Stores or Technical Records as required.
• Provide mentorship and support to AME Apprentices and other AMEs.

Reporting Requirements

• Assist with and support all policies and procedures regarding the SMS Program.
• Handle Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) requirements in a timely manner.

Education & Licensing

• Transport Canada-approved AME basic training program (or equivalent).
• Fulfilled all requirements to be a licensed AME (M1).

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience.
• Experience on one or more aircraft fleet types preferred.
• Certificates & Licensing Requirements:
• Transport Canada M1 AME valid license.
