Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
The Christmas Campaign Coordinator provides general oversight and direction to the Hamper, Toy Drive and Food Drive campaigns. The Christmas Campaign Coordinator organizes, directs, and supervises the work performed by the various campaign coordinators, and workers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Administration
- Provide oversight to the Community Services Christmas Campaigns including the Toy Drive and Volunteer Coordinators and in partnership with CS staff to ensure smooth campaign
- In cooperation with the Hamper Campaign and CFS staff, ensure all campaign information is updated and promoted to the community and partnering agencies
- Secure donations or sponsors to assist with food and refreshments for Hamper volunteer an
- Maintain confidential records of client information
- Complete online applications with clients as required
- Answer telephone, manage and/or redirect calls as appropriate
- Prepare, coordinate and distribute correspondences as required
- Update information and materials as required throughout the campaign
- Coordinate team meetings
- Complete final campaign report to director to include campaign highlights and recommendations
Hamper Program
- Provide campaign oversight to the online registration process, troubleshooting any application issues or concerns
- Provide direction and supervision to campaign assistant
- Develop timeline of events and important dates
- Represent The Salvation Army at campaign fundraising and community events
- Provide support for other seasonal campaigns as required
- Oversee and assist with preparation of registrant gift card packages
- Collect and forward statistical information as required
- Oversee the set up of gift card distribution centre
- Manage the preparation of hamper certificate packages to be delivered through the Fire department and Police Services or for Agency pick ups
Perform other position related duties as required.
MANAGERIAL/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports directly to the Community and Family Services Director
Direct reports: none.
FINANCIAL AND MATERIAL MANAGEMENT:
- This position may be required to assist with donation management
The above responsibilities must be discharged in accordance with The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This is a Seasonal Full time position based on 40 hours per week.
- Flexibility in scheduling is required and schedule may vary from week to week.
- Ability to lift/move more than 10 lbs. (4.5kg).
- This job requires reaching, bending, stooping and, working in a standing position
- Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
- Completed High School or equivalent
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of prior related experience working in community-based programs would be a definite asset.
- Experience in office administration.
- Experience with general office equipment and must have strong skills and experience using word processing (WORD); spread sheet use (EXCEL).

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $17.20 to $20.64 with a maximum of $24.77.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
