About the Company We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established Canadian manufacturer looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys improving how products are built—not sitting behind a desk all day. Our client is a leading North American manufacturer of engineered products for the built environment. With multiple manufacturing facilities and an established reputation for quality, innovation, and operational excellence, the company designs, engineers, and manufactures complex, high-volume products used throughout commercial, institutional, and workplace environments. They continue to invest heavily in automation, advanced manufacturing technologies, and continuous improvement, creating an environment where Manufacturing Engineers have the opportunity to lead meaningful capital and process improvement projects.
About the Role This role is ideal for someone who has successfully automated labor-intensive processes, led capital equipment projects, and delivered measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and manufacturing cost.
Responsibilities Lead manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation. Specify, justify, purchase, install, and commission new manufacturing equipment. Identify opportunities to reduce labour, eliminate waste, and improve manufacturing efficiency. Work with Production, Maintenance, Design Engineering, and external vendors to improve manufacturing processes. Support facility and plant improvement initiatives, equipment layouts, and manufacturing workflows. Develop work instructions, manufacturing documentation, labour standards, and Bills of Material. Support new product introductions and ensure designs can be manufactured efficiently. Track and communicate project results using measurable business metrics.
Qualifications P.Eng. designation (required) Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree
Required Skills Manufacturing Engineering in a production environment Assembly, machining, woodworking, cabinetry, furniture, or other discrete manufacturing operations Capital equipment selection, installation, and commissioning Automation and labour reduction projects Continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, or similar Lean tools Cross-functional project leadership
Preferred Skills A track record of delivering measurable results such as: labour savings productivity improvements cycle time reductions cost savings improved throughput successful equipment installations
Pay range and compensation package
$90,000–$110,000
