POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Assistant Site Manager directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As the Assistant Site Manager, you will provide onsite assistance to complete construction projects on time and within budget while monitoring the availability and costs of materials and equipment and relay instructions to construction laborers.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Assists with the everyday activities at the Wind Farm during the erection and commissioning phase. Provides assistance to the Erection and Commissioning Manager coordinating all the activities during the erection and commissioning of the WTG from beginning to “Take Over Certification”. Assists with the coordination of the mobilization of all heavy equipment on-site, including Cranes, erection (mechanical and electric) equipment, and transportation equipment Helps organize and track all the quality control and transportation documents. Interacts with customers and contractors during wind farm construction. Assists with the everyday activities at the Wind Farm during the erection and commissioning phase.

 

WHAT YOU HAVE

Associate’s in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent related work experience accepted Preferred 3 years of mechanical/construction experience; Wind Farm mechanical construction experience preferred Experience in quality management and quality control processes; Wind Turbine Assembly experience preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions Ability to spend 100% of the time at the wind farms during the erection and commissioning process Ability to manage personnel and interface with the customers and contractors Ability to manage contractors, sub-contractors, and the public Demonstrated ability to manage several activities at once, including organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare reports WTG on-site assembly experience preferred 80% to 90% travel required Ability to meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits of 250 to 300lbs. max Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.

Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure a safe working environment. Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members.

  The pay for this role is exempt at 100k CAD- 118k CAD with up to a 10% bonus.  Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
