About the role

Title

Systems Testing/QA Specialist Description NOTE: Assignment Type: This position is listed as Onsite; the resource is expected to work 7.25 hours per calendar day between the standard working hours of 8:00-5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks) every Monday to Friday inclusive at the identified OPS office location.

Extension/Amendment Attestation

Extensions are permitted only to the extent of unused contract days and/or remaining contract funds. No additional funds will be added beyond the maximum contract value, including any extension options set out in the original SOW.

Responsibilities

Participate and collaborate with the Business Analysts in the business requirements and use cases walkthrough Develop and document a comprehensive testing plan covering all types of testing for quality assurance Develop and document comprehensive testing cases covering all type of testing and in alignment with the approved business requirements / use cases for quality assurance Develop and execute testing checklists and ensure that the checklists are completed as required through various stages of testing and that the checklists are incorporated into the production readiness check list, and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise; Perform end-to-end system functional testing based on documented test cases Perform regression testing to ensure the that existing and new functionalities work as expected Perform performance testing to ensure system integrity and responsiveness Collaborate with the IT corporate team to perform vulnerability testing, as required Document all identified defects and re-test the resolved defects Collaborate with the project manager on project planning, change and release/implementation management activities Contribute required QA artefacts to the architecture checkpoints activities Collaborate with the business SMEs to perform/complete user acceptance testing and production acceptance testing Where necessary, conduct manual testing of the system to supplement/validate the automated test results Compile, summarize and report findings from automated and manual tests Skills

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Testing / Hands-on Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Demonstrated experience with delivering testing/QA requirements using different development methodologies, such as waterfall and agile
  • Experience with performing different types of testing, including unit testing, functional testing, user acceptance testing, production acceptance testing, integration testing, performance testing, regression testing, load testing, security testing, backend testing, web services testing etc.
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with version control systems and defect management tools such as Confluence, JIRA or TestRail 50% Technical Skills and Experiences
  • Experience with configuring system and testing environments
  • Experience with testing in-house developed solutions and COTS
  • Experience with multi-tier, multi-platform/technology and integrated / interconnected solutions, as well as reporting systems
  • Experience with web, desktop and mobile applications
  • Experience with testing high availability, 24x7, mission critical applications
  • Experience with systems debugging, refactoring and optimization 25% Soft Skills, Communication, Interpersonal and Problem-solving
  • Able to identify and coordinate the resolution of system defects, re-test and closeout systems related issues.
  • Effective communication skills to prepare reports, documentation and present solution functions to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently

  • Understanding of IT standard and guidelines related to developing test strategy, test scenarios, test cases, etc. to ensure that technology solutions meet business needs, including security and privacy. 5% 5 days onsite (49 Place d’Armes, Kingston or 222 Jarvis St, Toronto, Ontario or 5700 Yonge Street, Toronto)

Must Have
