About the role

Job Posting APSSP Temporary Psychologist The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 30,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

General Description Of Duties

  • Provide psychological services to students, parents, and staff including consultation, assessment, and recommendations
  • Collaborating with other Chief Psychologists in the province
  • Provide clinical supervision and consultation to non-registered and registered psychology staff
  • Provide referrals to community resources and liaise as necessary
  • Collaborate with the Board's multi-disciplinary teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Ph.D. Psychology
  • Current up-to-date registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario for practice in the areas of Clinical Psychology
  • Registered Psychologist with current up-to-date registration with School Psychology designation
  • Scope of practice related to children, adolescents and young adults
  • Demonstrate the ability to diagnose disorders related to children's social, emotional, behavioural, and learning problems
  • Demonstrate the ability to use a variety of assessment techniques and tools to determine children's psychological and educational needs and to provide direction for programming
  • Ability and experience providing clinical supervision to non-registered and registered psychology staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working within an inter-professional team
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle
  • The successful candidate will be required to produce a satisfactory Criminal Background Check

Desirable Assets

  • Clinical Psychology experience in an educational setting
  • Participation in ongoing professional/leadership development activities
  • Familiarity with a wide range of special education programs and services
  • Knowledge and experience in providing consultation with teachers, administrators and parents on the intellectual, academic, social and emotional development of students

Salary Range : APSSP Category 3, $96,285.00 - $123,924.00 per year based on 194 school days per year and evaluation of years of experience in accordance with the provisions of the APSSP Collective Agreement.

Hours of Work : Temporary full-time, 35 hours per week. Contract scheduled to end March 2027.
