We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing problems and making repairs for clients in their own homes, in-shop, and residential care homes and communities. This position requires a compassionate and resilient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering, setting up, and installing equipment within a client's home and/or facility. Equipment includes wheelchairs, hospital beds, lifts, and pediatric equipment such as strollers and standers

• Educating clients on how to use and maintain their equipment

• Lifting weight of up to 100lb

• Operating any one of Macdonald's Home Health Care's service fleet vehicles safely and courteously

• Assisting in general warehouse duties such as organizing, stacking inventory, moving equipment, general stock picking

• Setting up and inspecting equipment in a manner that ensures the overall cleanliness, safety, and quality of the equipment

• Troubleshooting and providing timely diagnosis recommendations for repair

• Working with Seating and Mobility Consultants on equipment trials and demonstrations, in conjunction with healthcare professionals, and

• Adhering to Macdonald's Home Health Care's Safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

• Perform maintenance and provide customer support diagnosing issues and offering solutions

• Order parts needed for repairs if needed

• Fill out detailed work orders and keep records on services that have been performed

• Explain issues with equipment and repairs to clients

• Build and maintain relationships with clients, which encourage loyalty

• Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters and programmable logic controllers, or remove and replace defective parts

• Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

• Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge, computer software and internet proficiency

• Technically proficient with a keen interest in repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems

• Team-oriented and dependable with a strong work ethic

• Extremely organized and detailed oriented

• Effective at multitasking

• Must hold a valid BC drivers license

• Healthcare experience is an asset

• Working knowledge of tools and repairs

• Ability to work independently without much supervision

• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces

• Ability to effectively manage time and communicate with clients if running behind schedule
