The MWD MMR Technician is responsible for providing Altitude Energy Partners with a top-notch fleet of MWD Equipment by promptly and efficiently utilizing Altitude’s procedures and test plans to service, maintain, repair and manufacture any and all MWD equipment in accordance to the changing needs to Altitude Energy Partners. To support Canadian Operations group with technical expertise in proper operation and maintenance of MWD equipment for use in Directional Drilling Operations. To aid SQI process by troubleshooting and diagnosing field tool failures with the ultimate goal of providing a root cause analysis to aid in process optimization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Service, maintenance and repair of all AEP equipment (surface and downhole)
- Second Contact for service, maintenance and repair of all other product lines
- Assist TIG with prototype assembly, testing, and documentation
- Assemble and test new manufacturing work orders
- Keep track of all manufacturing work orders staged in the lab
- Implement and document new tool testing procedures to improve performance and aid tracking
- Act as a technical resource for field personnel inquiries on tool performance and aid tracking.
- Purchasing liaison between shop and inventory specialist to ensure adequate supply of needed parts.
- Learn EM/Electronics maintenance processes and procedures.
- Knowledge to promote and apply the established Quality Management System within his/her scope of work
- Promote environmental awareness and conservation of natural resources, as well as oversee proper classification and disposal of solid and dangerous materials.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma
- Must be familiar with EM and AEP circuitry and downhole assembly/maintenance procedures
- Asset - Diploma or technical certificate (petroleum, computer, electronics)
- Asset - 2 years’ experience in MWD tool maintenance
- Asset- 2 years’ experience with electronics measurement and test results evaluation
QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS
- Must possess good computer skills. Both software and hardware.
- Must possess good communication skills (written & verbal).
- Must be able to effectively complete multiple tasks according to various deadlines with high levels of flexibility
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-based environment
- Asset - General knowledge of the oil & gas industry
- Asset - Design and manufacture test equipment for lab field use
- Asset - Assist technical writers with documentation
- Asset - Lab maintenance and upkeep.
- Asset- Able to troubleshoot electronic circuitry to the component level and conduct the appropriate repairs
- Asset - Must possess excellent soldering skills.

- Must be able to lift 25lbs
- Must be able to perform physical tasks
