We Invite Applications For The Position Of
- We invite applications for the position of Human Resources Representative, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The current rate of pay is $31.95 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.
Qualifications Grade 12 education supplemented by completion of post secondary program certificate in business administration or related field, supplemented with one year of coursework in human resources. CPHR designation, or working toward it, is preferred; typing speed of 40 wpm; proficient in Microsoft Office Programs; three years of current human resources experience; ability to exercise a high level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information; ability to organize and prioritize duties with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy; ability to handle high volumes of work with constantly changing deadlines and constant interruptions; experience in the use of relevant office equipment.; meets the physical requirements of the position; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to align with and live by the Human Resources Department vision, mission and values.
Duties/Responsibilities Duties are performed under the supervision of the Manager of Human Resources or designate; provides HR services to employees and clerical support to the Human Resources Department; provides on-boarding for new hires, signs up new employees to the district, issues SD71 email address and Employee ID, and ensures compliance with Board policies and procedures; assists with accounts verification for the Human Resources Department budget; assists with purchase orders, tracking of inventory, and procurement of materials for Workplace Medical Accommodations; provides employee support at the HR Helpdesk; assists staff with Automated Dispatching System (ADS) enquiries and provides manual dispatching as needed; processes new hire paperwork and ensures compliance with the Criminal Review Act; assists in maintaining employee personnel files; assists with preparing and processing internal and external job postings and applicant lists; provides logistical support for employee events, in-service and professional development activities; assists with employee paperwork tracking; acts as back-up in the absence of other HR Representatives; facilitates accurate entry and tracking of data in HRIS; distributes mail and performs reception duties for the Human Resources Department; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Comox Valley Schools (SD71) is a positive, progressive and growing school district situated on the east coast of Vancouver Island on the traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation. Located within the Valley are the municipalities we serve, City of Courtenay, the Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland and the Regional District; each providing their own unique services and community cultures.
