About Barrie Ford

Barrie Ford is one of the top-performing dealerships in the Canada One Auto Group, committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience, strong community presence, and a dynamic team-focused environment. We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Merchandising Assistant / Lot Attendant to help maintain our professional image and support our sales operations.

Position Summary:

The Merchandising Assistant / Lot Attendant plays a key role in the appearance, organization, and readiness of the dealership’s new and pre-owned inventory. This position ensures that every vehicle is showcased at its best—clean, photographed, merchandised, and positioned to maximize customer appeal and online engagement. You will work closely with the Sales Managers, Used Car Manager, and Marketing Team to keep the lot organized and the digital showroom up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Merchandising & Presentation

  • Photograph all new and pre-owned vehicles for online listings.
  • Capture interior, exterior, feature, and 360° walk-around photos/videos as needed.
  • Upload images to dealership systems (HomeNet, AutoTrader, etc).
  • Assist with description writing and online listing accuracy (trim, equipment, mileage, pricing).
  • Install window stickers, hangtags, feature cards, and price sheets.

Lot Management

  • Park, organize, and rotate inventory according to dealership layout and sales needs.
  • Keep the lot visually appealing, free of debris, and neatly aligned.
  • Assist in snow removal around vehicles during winter months.
  • Move vehicles for sales staff, photography, service, or customer delivery.
  • Work between the main lot and compound to ensure units are available when needed, and oldest inventory is on the main lot.

Vehicle Readiness

  • Ensure all vehicles are clean and “front-line ready.”
  • Fuel vehicles as required.
  • Install dealer plates, battery boosters, and assist with vehicle delivery preparation.
  • Check-in arriving vehicles and conduct basic inspections.

Support for Sales & Marketing

  • Assist with event setup (Private Sales, holiday events, promotions).
  • Support the Marketing Team with special photo/video content.
  • Notify management of low-quality photos or merchandising gaps.
  • Help maintain signage, displays, banners, and showroom presentation.

General Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness of the lot, sidewalks, and inventory areas.
  • Follow all safety protocols and safe driving practices.
  • Assist with any other tasks as requested by management.

Special Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Minimum High School Diploma

  • Post Secondary Education Preferred

  • Basic Knowledge of automotive products and services

  • Familiarity with PowerUp, vAuto, Deskit, and Microsoft Office Suite

Qualified applicants are invited to apply with resume and cover letter.
