About the role
Job Description We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-focused Red Seal/Journeyman Industrial Electrician to join our team at the Truro Sawmill. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment throughout the facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading electrical infrastructure in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $38.72, paid weekly
- Weekly Bonus: Up to $200 based on performance and attendance

Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.
- Install and commission new electrical equipment and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and electrical codes.
- Collaborate with mill operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Certification as an Industrial Electrician (or equivalent Journeyman status).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, and control circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts and respond to emergency calls as needed.
