Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a collaborative and resourceful candidate with strong expertise in knowledge transfer, adult learning, and change management principles to join our team as a Knowledge Coordinator–Operations. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing and evaluating education and training initiatives within complex health care environments and be skilled in identifying effective delivery methods, technologies, and strategies to support staff learning and professional development. This individual will be a confident facilitator and consultant who can guide and support front line staff, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams in the integration of evidence-based practices, while fostering a culture of continuous learning. Strong communication, organizational, and evaluation skills are essential, as is the ability to provide feedback, adapt learning plans, and ensure education initiatives align with operational goals and best practices. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver who thrives in partnership with leaders, program directors, and practice leads to strengthen knowledge services and improve quality of care.

What Will You Work On?

The Knowledge Coordinator supports Access Central, which is a regional virtual service delivered by a centralized interdisciplinary team based in Kelowna. This position will support a centralized, regional, coordinated access to substance use bed-based services, including treatment, transition and stabilization, and supportive recovery. The Knowledge Coordinator– Operations, in consultation with the Manager, Knowledge Support and Program Directors, works with Operational Leadership in the implementation, delivery and evaluation of education, training and related knowledge services as assigned, and within an assigned Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) Operations area.

Under the direction of the Manager, Knowledge Support, and in collaboration with Program Directors and Practice Leads, the Knowledge Coordinator-Operations promotes consistent application, delivery and integration of evidence-based knowledge within an assigned HCIS area by:

  • identifying effective delivery methods, technology and venues for required education and knowledge transfer;

  • implementing knowledge transfer methods and techniques and supporting their use by staff (and others); and

  • evaluating the effectiveness of knowledge services initiatives and evaluating/reviewing the learning needs of staff (and others).

The Knowledge Coordinator-Operations utilizes adult teaching /learning and change management principles and acts as a resource to front line staff and others by providing guidance and support in relation to education/knowledge transfer methods, technologies, best practices and initiatives within the assigned HCIS Operations area.

Scheduling Information:

Shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours and days of work are Monday to Friday.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Completion of a Master’s degree in a HCIS program related field from a recognized institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.

  • Three (3) years’ recent related experience in the assigned HCIS Program/Operations area.

  • Two(2) years’ formal experience in adult teaching/learning, curriculum development, teaching, providing in services or staff development function; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Current registration with the applicable College (OT/PT/SLP/etc.)

  • Current valid BC driver’s license (Class 5).
