About the role

NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis and will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

This state-of-the-art facility will be the first of its kind in Canada and is being built with the goal of becoming the foremost battery hub in North America. Position Overview:

The Senior Manager, Corporate Security will oversee and integrate all aspects of the company's physical and IT security operations. This role involves managing security systems, developing policies, and ensuring the protection of people, property, information, and assets. Using forecasted security trends, the Senior Manager of Physical and IT Security will develop and implement long-term security strategies aligned with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall management of physical and IT Security.
  • Management of the security budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Select and manage relationships with security vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure vendors meet the company’s security standards and requirements.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for security operations.
  • Regularly report on security status and incidents to senior management.
  • Lead and mentor the security team, fostering a culture of security awareness.
  • Accountable for the design, implementation, and maintenance of physical security systems, ensuring they meet the company’s needs.
  • Oversee efforts to prevent, control, and correct risks related to information leakage and intrusion.
  • Maintain compliance with security laws and regulations, ensuring all documentation is current.
  • Response to compliance issues and information security related national laws (Korea, US, etc.).
  • Responsibility for in-house & external Partner's information security audits.
  • Training & Promoting the Employees for Security Awareness Improvement.
  • Ensure the development and enforcement of comprehensive security plans, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies during investments, supervising the overall security strategy.

Qualifications:

  • 5 -10 years of experience in IT security.
  • 5 + years management experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Security Management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of security principles, including risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of physical security systems (access control, CCTV, intrusion detection).
  • Proficiency in Korean language is considered an asset for this position as it may help facilitate communication across the organization but is not required.
  • Experience in security system design and enterprise security architecture.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to information security (Industrial Technology Protection Act, Trade Secret Protection Act, Information and Communication Network Act, Personal Information Protection Act, EU GDPR, China Network Safety Act).
