What Are Contents Claims?
A contents claim is a claim for the loss or damage of personal belongings, and are most commonly caused by theft, water, fire and other perils.
We are currently recruiting for a Content Claims Specialist - Field to join our Edjuster team in New Brunswick, Canada . This is a field role, offering a combination of work from home and travel within the specified region
The Content Claims Specialist (CCS) assists with the inventory and valuation of a policy holder’s/claimant’s total loss contents. The Content Claims Specialist (CCS) helps list and value items lost in a claim. They handle claims quickly and accurately using edjuster’s process and our platform, Exclaim.
This role requires frequent interactions in English and requires reading and preparing documents in English on a frequent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct onsite attendance to meet the adjusters/policyholders and other industry vendors and conduct the inventory of the total loss contents.
- Conduct and facilitate virtual meetings with policyholders for data collection during total loss content recreations, guiding them through structured memory exercises to accurately document non-restorable items.
- Ensure consistent and quality turnaround of all claims in accordance with the company’s productivity and Performance Excellence Guarantee.
- Work with the support of other teams at edjuster to organize/direct the resources required for completing the inventory and like, kind, and quality (LKQ) valuation of all total loss contents in an efficient and effective manner per productivity standards.
- Adhere to edjuster Inc.’s commitment to timely and informative updates on the content claims process to adjusters/policyholders.
- Complete/submit detailed work/time logs daily, for all claim tasks completed.
- Maintain claim related notes in the company’s platform Exclaim, related to various tasks involved in handling the claim.
- Coordinating with edjuster teams to ensure timely and accurate completion/pricing and adhering to Like, Kind and Quality (LKQ) standards.
- Consistently promote edjuster’s brand, image, and reputation in a professional and positive manner.
- Managing expenses and submission of claim related costs in accordance to company policies and timelines.
- Organize and maintain a structured calendar to prioritize tasks, schedule appointments and manage time effectively in a fast paced environment.
Qualifications :
- Bilingual (French & English)
- A Secondary School diploma.
- Prior experience in insurance, customer service, retail, food and beverage, construction or restoration are all relevant and would be considered for the role.
- Some prior background/experience in the Property claims industry would be considered an asset.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Patience, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in most circumstances, with minimal supervision.
- Access to a reliable insured vehicle to travel to claim sites within designated region.
- Own a current valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Workplace, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and new technology.
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
- Must successfully pass both a criminal background check and employment reference verification.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be physically capable of performing repetitive motions and tasks as required.
- Comfortable identifying household goods and assigning reasonable values.
Working Conditions
- Travel is a required integral part of the performance of your duties.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required, corporate credit card provided for work related travel expenses.
- May be exposed to diverse conditions (cold, heat, rain, debris, etc.).
- Maintains a functional home office setup, including a reliable internet connection, and quiet workspace to support remote work, virtual meetings, and secure data handling.
- Must be willing and able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when attending sites that may be dirty, smelly or hazardous.
