As a**Genetics Coordinator,**you are responsible for supporting the function of Dynacare Genetic Counselling Clinical Services. You will work with the Genetics team to ensure that genetic services from intake to follow up of patients is timely and provides the best patient experience possible.

How YOU will make a difference:

• Provide ongoing operational support to the Genetic Counsellors.
• Assist with screening/triaging and accepting or declining patient referrals.
• Triage and complete requests for specific genetic information from patient and physician requests, ensuring appropriate patient consent for disclosure is in place.
• Organize and prepare patient charts for a variety of genetic consults; obtain a complete family history from the patient, prepare and review pedigree information, obtain and review appropriate medical records and other relevant information.
• Input International Breast Cancer Intervention Study (IBIS) and/or Can Risk Breast and Ovarian Analysis of Disease Incidence and Carrier Estimation Algorithm (BOADICEA) data as required.
• Liaise with local and provincial partners to disseminate genetic educational material and resource literature.
• Perform appointment follow up work.
• Assist to arrange testing for patients as directed.
• Respond to patient and community requests and questions as required.
• Track the timely receipt of patient test results and distribute patient test results.
• Input visit and test data into ON Call database, MedLab or other required databases for the genetic counsellors.
• Assist with research studies, chart audits and other educational opportunities.
• Determine and align improvement projects with Dynacare’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.

What YOU bring to the role:

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Biology or Genetics from an accredited university.
• Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate.
• Successful completion of a Genetic Assistant training program is an asset.
• Previous related experience in a genetics setting is preferred.
• Experience in working with physicians and health care providers is preferred.
• Bilingualism French English is an asset.

Pay rate: $42,400 to $53,000.
The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
