About the role

Reporting to the Coordinator of IT Risk Management, the IT Risk Analyst supports innovation and continuous improvement of city systems and processes through the management of risk associated with well-designed systems and services.

The IT Risk Analyst is a member of the Innovation & Technology Architecture and Risk team and is responsible for supporting the IT risk management practice, including maintenance of IT Risk Management framework and supporting processes and procedures.

The IT Risk Analyst is responsible for maintenance of the IT Risk Register and supporting management action planning for risk mitigation.

The IT Risk Analyst supports Innovation and Technology management with decision-making on risk and value for Innovation and Technology services.

As the Innovation & Technology Risk Analyst**, your duties will include****:**

  • Support the IT risk management practice, including maintenance of the IT Risk Management framework and supporting processes and procedures
  • Support action planning for IT risk mitigation.
  • Support with decision-making on risk and value for Innovation and Technology services.

Your education and qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a management, business, or technology-focused discipline or equivalent education and experience.

  • ISACA, ITIL, or comparable certifications are an asset.

  • 5 years’ progressive experience including risk management, project management, innovation, or technology roles

  • Experience with IT risk assessment, evaluation and mitigation planning.

  • Written communication skills including the ability to write politically sensitive and confidential material.

  • Verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.

  • Ability to promote a healthy work culture.

  • Organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and circumstances.

  • Understanding of public service mandates, policies, and organizational structure is desired.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with partners.

  • Ability to negotiate and influence, impact decisions, solve problems, and advance opportunities.

  • Knowledge of modern technology trends and applications.

  • Knowledge of current and emerging practices in risk management for information technology.
