Job Type: On-site Salary Type: Salary Req #: 3129 About the Role The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Warehouse. The Team Lead should provide consistent and professional communications with external and internal Customers to build strong relations and develop productive Carrier relationships. This position will be responsible for leading and coaching other team members to achieve and exceed specific department goals.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including shipping customer orders, ensuring accuracy of shipments, and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material, and routing to appropriate area or personnel, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing the cross-dock activities
- Allocate workload to the different teams of material handlers and shipping and receiving coordinators, complete and improve warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
- Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increase efficiency of department and work crew, and equipment performance.
- Provide supervision, training, scheduling, and guidance to shipping & receiving personnel. Monitor team performance and create monthly productivity reports
- Maintain current and accurate inventory on hand for all freight at the warehouse. Periodically review inventory and confirm accuracy with physical cycle counts.
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations, ensure a safe work environment, and comply with OSHA requirements.
- Coordinate activity and communication with customers for daily orders. Coordinate activities of individual departments and service of internal customers
- Assist in the control of warehouse equipment and follow maintenance plan
- Manage warehouse space, cleanliness, and organization. Help maintain supplies for the warehouse
- Maintain departmental work instructions for all tasks and various files and records Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years of related experience Preferred Qualifications
- College degree in related field
- Advanced Spanish and English
- Ability to work with general office and warehouse equipment such as a personal computer and keyboard, photocopier, pallet jacks and forklift truck
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
