Reporting to the Controller, we are seeking to fill a temporary 18-months position of Accounting Analyst. As an Accounting professional, you will primarily be responsible for supporting the team in various accounting functions, including financial reporting and analysis.
Location: Montreal office (hybrid 3-days in presence)
Duration: Temporary 18-months with benefits (maternity replacement)
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE Key Responsibilities Include Financial Activities & Analysis
- Execute settlement runs and manage supplier creation within Workday
- Perform cost analysis and recharge allocations
- Calculate and request interest payments on various accounts
- Update and maintain continuity schedules
- Assist the controller with monthly reporting and financial statement preparation, including audit.
- Update promissory note grids across all entities for legal tracking
- File and organize all pertinent documentation including payroll records, tax communications, resolutions, and other compliance materials
- Ensure internal controls are adhered to
Operational Functions
- Create and manage bank accounts in Workday
- Establish new entities, custom organizations, and reporting codes
- Oversee account management and ensure accurate documentation
- Provide backup support for AP/AR functions and bank reconciliations
- Respond to ad hoc and special requests from leadership or cross-functional teams
- Assist with documentation and process improvements across financial operations
WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON The Ideal Candidate Has
- A university degree in accounting or a combination of studies and relevant experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Sales Tax knowledge (GST, QST, HST).
- Strong financial reporting skills
- Workday experience or any other ERP system.
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Entities (ASPE), and Non-Profit organizations is an asset
- Experience in a fast-paced, corporate work environment.
- Highest standard of attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- *Bilingualism (English/French).
