Position:             Cashier Shift Supervisor

Location:             370 Main Street, Winkler, MB.

Status:                 Part-Time (24+ hours/week), Permanent, Non-Management.

Shifts:                  Three 8-hour shifts/week, including evening shifts and

a rotation of Saturday and/or Sunday shifts.

What you’ll do

The Cashier Shift Supervisor is responsible for delivering a consistent, friendly, respectful and impactful customer experience; provide leadership and direction to all front-end staff; operate cash registers and process payments; assist with merchandising; maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards; perform closing Supervisor duties i.e. cash up duties.

The Cashier Shift Supervisor will live the Co-op Brand and strive to achieve and

maintain positive and healthy relationships with co-workers and customers. 

 

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Living the Brand

The Cashier Shift Supervisor will consistently represent and uphold the Co‑op

brand by demonstrating Gardenland Co‑op’s vision, mission, and values in all interactions.

You will act as a Co‑op ambassador with a strong understanding of the

Cooperative Retailing System and the cooperative business model, striving to build and maintain positive, healthy relationships with both co‑workers and customers. 

 

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and

creating positive interactions.

Communicate clearly and respectfully with both customers and coworkers.

Work well within a team environment and contributes to a supportive, collaborative workplace.

 

Work Duties & Requirements

Assist customers at checkout by scanning items, processing payments, and

operating cash registers and POS systems accurately and efficiently.

Provide friendly, helpful customer service and assist customers with questions

or concerns.

Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable front-end and checkout area.

Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and return them to designated store

areas as needed.

Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of

accuracy and attention to detail.

Collaborate effectively with team members to complete daily tasks.

Remain active throughout the shift, including repetitive lifting up to 10 lbs, and standing for extended periods of time.

Be reliable, punctual, and available to work three 8-hour shifts per week, including days, evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays.

 

Qualifications

Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Friendly, positive attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Proven ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to accurately handle cash and perform basic numerical tasks.

Ability to meet the physical demands and scheduling requirements of the

position.

Experience with basic computer operations.

Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
