Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Clinical Manager of the Sans Souci Program is currently seeking a temporary full-time Registered Social Worker. The Registered Social Worker will provide professional social worker services using social work knowledge and skills, interventions and strategies in order to assist individuals to achieve optimum psychosocial and social functioning.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Interviewing assigned patients, relatives and others considered significant to patient’s lives as well as reviewing clinical histories and consulting with other facilities, agencies and care providers to obtain pertinent information
- Assessing psychosocial strengths and challenges within a systems theory approach to formulate and implement therapeutic recovery plans of care, deliver therapeutic group treatment and create effective discharge plans recovery goals and interventions consistent with evidence based social work practices in consultation with clinical team members
- Implementing short and/or long term treatment goals utilizing a range of therapeutic modalities including, but not restricted to psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, resource counselling, crisis counselling, psychosocial education, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), solution-focused counselling, referral and advocacy.
- Ensuring that patient records are current, accurate, contain relevant information, are managed in a manner that protects patient privacy and are in line with Waypoint and OCSWSSW standards
- Providing professional supervision to a social work student as required
- Serving on administrative, clinical and community committees as assigned, identified and/or chosen
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- Bachelor of Social Workers (BSW) required
- Master of Social Worker (MSW) preferred
- Specialized education/training or experience in transitional or recovery-focused practices and experienced with group facilitation preferred
- Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
- Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to adapt readily to change
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values (Caring, Respect, Accountability, Innovation), and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills
