DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for a talented Software Engineering Manager to help us lead the development of our embedded, desktop, and cloud applications. If you have a knack for managing a team of programmers to motivate them to drive towards a common goal, we are looking for you.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will direct, manage, and mentor a team of Software Engineers. Your team will be responsible for the development and release of complex software products for our ultrasound imaging solutions. We are iterating upon our existing industry leading platform as well as building out our next generation of higher performance, lower power systems.
This role is on-site and is based out of DarkVision’s head office in North Vancouver, BC, where employees enjoy full access to our facility amenities including a well-equipped gym, squash court, climbing wall, steam room, private showers, and more.
Our Team
Our software and hardware engineers to do complete “full-stack” development. From embedded systems to data processing to desktop applications with 3D rendering and cloud services, the Software team at DarkVision plays a central role in everything that happens with our award-winning ultrasound imaging solutions.
What You Will Do
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, including architecture, design, and code reviews
- Manage, mentor, and nurture the growth of a software engineering team
- Plan and coordinate requirements, dependencies, and priorities with stakeholder groups to steer product development in an Agile manner
- Hire, retain, and grow top talent on the team while fostering a relaxed team atmosphere
- Advocate and advance modern software development practices
- Work with the Director of Software Engineering to build a great team culture and high-quality products
- Get your hands dirty and write some code when it makes sense

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience managing a Software Team through at least one product cycle.
- Experience with Agile (Scrum) methodology

- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Experience with embedded development or cloud services
- Bachelor of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science or similar experience
General Salary Range
For this role, we anticipate paying $150,000 to $200,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
