Position Summary... Working as a Meat Associate at Walmart Canada is a great opportunity to grow your skills in a fast‑paced retail environment. In this role, you deliver outstanding customer service by living Walmart’s values, keeping the meat department clean, organized, and well‑stocked, and supporting daily sales activities. As part of the team, you help create a fresh, inviting shopping experience for customers. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, teamwork, and making a positive impact on every customer visit. What you'll do... WHAT YOU'LL DO Maintain Department Organization and Standards Keeps the department clean, organized, and properly zoned to ensure it is customer-ready at all times. Rotates stock regularly and removes expired or unsellable products. Ensure Accurate Pricing and Signing Ensures all merchandise is correctly signed and priced. Follows established procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing, and labeling. Follow Food Safety and Cold Chain Practices Adheres to food safety and cold chain standards, including temperature checks, thermometer calibration, proper food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration date compliance. Prepare and Serve Deli Products Takes customer orders and prepares deli items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken. Uses slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other tools safely to prepare food, fill display cases, and complete special customer orders. Health and Safety Compliance Follows all Health and Safety guidelines and Company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment. Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule) - Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service. POTENTIAL CHALLENGES IN THIS ROLE High Task Volume in a Fast-Paced Environment - Manages overnight hours effectively and planning accordingly to stay energized and focused. - Effectively manages work hours and plans ahead to maintain energy and focus throughout the shift. - Handles a fast-paced workload with efficiency, ensuring large volumes of restocking and recovery are completed accurately and on time. Physical Demands - Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs. - Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
