The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) is seeking an Apprenticeship Training Consultant for Moose Jaw and surrounding area. This position provides a consultative and advisory service related to apprenticeship training, tradesperson's certification, as well as promotion of the Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) Program.

The successful candidate will evaluate trade experience of tradespersons, apprentices, and journeypersons; monitor apprenticeship training in-school; provide informational and counseling services by phone and in person to a diverse clientele; administer trade examinations; promote apprenticeship and trades careers to students, tradespersons, and employers through various venues; administer and promote the SYA program; complete special assignments related to Commission representative workforce initiatives; and manage assigned work areas.

Our candidate of choice will possess a Journeyperson Certificate with a completion of Apprenticeship Certificate and have knowledge of work-based training principles and the apprenticeship and trade certification process. You will have strong time-management skills and will be a strong writer/communicator being able to communicate information orally and in writing to a variety of audiences in a manner that persuades, convinces, builds support, educates, and promotes understanding.

This position will be based out of the SATCC's Moose Jaw office. The Apprenticeship Training Consultant will frequently work irregular hours and will travel in sometimes adverse weather conditions to rural or remote areas. A valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle is required.

This is a term position until December 31,2026.

To qualify for this position, you will possess a Journeyperson Certificate, and Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate. You will also possess a Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent.

The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) performs four main roles: we train apprentices; certify apprentices and tradespeople; regulate the apprenticeship system of training; and promote apprenticeship as a way for employers to meet their labour market requirements.

Our mandate is to develop, promote, and execute a relevant, accessible and responsive apprenticeship training and certification system to meet the needs of employers, apprentices, journeypersons and tradespersons.

Hours of Work**:** B - SGEU Field 37.33 - work a total of 37.33 hours/week, averaged over 4 weeks
