About the role
Job Summary
The Practicum Coordinator supports the facilitation of experiential learning by sourcing and securing practicum placements that align with the learning objectives of the program and student and within the vocational and employment specific training programs offered by Continuing Education at UFV.
The Coordinator supports students, instructors, and Program Coordinators with the implementation of all practicum placements within the UFV community, locally and provincially. This includes locating new practicum sites, maintaining relationships with employers, coordinating practicum paperwork, and preparing students to make the exciting transition from classroom learning to practicum experience.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma from an accredited institution.
- Three years’ office experience ideally gained through employment at a post-secondary education institution or career placement service or in a related field, eg: recruitment or career counselling.
- Experience with student or client supervision or mentorship.
- Excellent communication skills; interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exhibiting respect for all colleagues in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated commitment to service and community engagement.
- Proven success in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external partners.
