About Castlemain

At Castlemain, we help people understand, access, and engage with class action settlements and community programs. Our work begins with claimants, ensuring they are supported with trauma-informed, culturally grounded communications and backed by expert project management and community-focused care.

Whether we’re delivering national noticing campaigns, providing direct claimant support, or partnering on community program building, we work with law firms, governments, Indigenous organizations, and administrators on national programs that ensure results.

Communication and community support is about more than sharing information — it’s about supporting well-being, healing, and connection. That’s why our programs are designed to respect the dignity of community members and support the wellness of everyone involved.

With more than 200 team members, many of whom are Indigenous, we deliver services in English, French, and several Indigenous languages across the country, ensuring people are heard, respected, and supported.

Program Context

This role will largely be dedicated to Castlemain’s national training programs, which support staff working across multiple settlements and community-based initiatives. These training programs are designed to strengthen trauma-informed, culturally grounded practice for teams working with Indigenous individuals, families, and communities.

Castlemain’s training work ensures that staff have the tools, knowledge, and confidence to provide culturally safe, trauma-informed support while honouring community experiences, histories, and strengths.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to support high-quality, culturally respectful training across Castlemain’s programs, with ongoing opportunities to contribute to future organizational initiatives.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Virtual Training Facilitator to deliver engaging, culturally grounded training to adult learners across Canada. This role is fully remote and focuses on facilitating virtual sessions on topics such as Indigenous trauma-informed practice, de-escalation techniques, cultural safety and humility, community engagement, and leadership skills for managers supporting Indigenous teams.

The ideal candidate identifies as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit, or possesses a deep understanding and meaningful experience working with Indigenous communities and applying Indigenous-centred approaches in professional, educational, or community settings.

The successful candidate will bring warmth, clarity, and confidence to the virtual learning environment, and will be committed to delivering training in a way that honours Indigenous cultures, experiences, and knowledge systems.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering live virtual training sessions to diverse groups of adult learners using platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
  • Facilitating training on Indigenous trauma-informed and strengths-based practices, cultural safety and humility, respectful engagement with Indigenous communities, de-escalation techniques, conflict management, and leadership development.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful virtual learning environment.
  • Adapting facilitation style to support learners with varying levels of experience and comfort.
  • Guiding participants through real-life scenarios, discussions, and applied learning activities.
  • Preparing training materials and reviewing curriculum content in advance of sessions.
  • Collaborating with curriculum designers, subject-matter experts, and program leads to ensure training remains aligned with Indigenous-informed and trauma-informed best practices.
  • Integrating feedback from sessions and contributing to ongoing curriculum improvements.
  • Participating in facilitator meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Staying current on relevant cultural protocols, trauma-informed practices, and program requirements.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Indigenous identity (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) or extensive demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (spoken and written).
  • 2–3+ years of experience facilitating training for adult learners (virtual facilitation strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, culturally safe, and Indigenous-centred practices.
  • Experience supporting individuals or communities impacted by trauma, colonial harms, or systemic barriers.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and group-management skills.
  • Confidence navigating emotionally complex or sensitive discussions in a grounded, supportive manner.
  • Strong technical skills with virtual learning tools (Zoom, Teams, digital whiteboards, breakout rooms).
  • Ability to create safe, welcoming, and confidential learning spaces.
  • Experience developing training materials is an asset.
  • Experience in adult education, social services, leadership development, or community engagement is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with instructional design and adult learning principles is an asset.

At Castlemain, we recognize that the best candidate may not meet all criteria listed above. We encourage all those with relevant experience to apply even if you don’t match the posting perfectly.
