Purpose:
The Toronto and GTA Seating and Mobility Sales Consultant is the primary point forfacilitating the purchase of high-end Mobility Equipment. This individual will follow up on new leads and referrals, solicit new business and meet sales targets to ensure profitability. In addition to new sales, they must also provide guidance for warranty, preventative maintenance and contractually obligated work. Sales consultants liaise with Occupational therapists (OT’s) to provide the required prescription suited to the client’s medical and physical needs. OT’s are community, and institutional based. This position is field based, calling on long term care, retirement homes, hospitals, schools, rehab clinics, and clients’ homes. Majority of travel required within
Toronto and surrounding GTA with possible expansion both east and west. The mobility sales consultant works with the client and their family to ensure that the equipment is cost effective and appropriate. The Sales Consultants are working with challenging clients who require more compassion and patience to determine the best assistive device required for their care and day-to-day living needs. Uncovering and understanding the client’s needs is key to being able to provide equipment that will satisfy a client’s physical needs.

Job Responsibilities:
- Present and sell Mobility products and services to new and existing clients and accounts and respond rapidly to OT requests.
- Dispense and custom fit high-end wheelchairs, powerchairs, walkers, and medical equipment to patients, in conjunction with the prescribing therapist.
- Liaise with client, family, and power of attorneys assigned by client.
- Establish customer loyalty to OMS by providing high-quality products and solutions.
- Meet sales targets and corporate objectives as set out by manager.
- Solicit new business from Occupational Therapists, nursing homes and hospitals and enhance and establish new relationships with key decision makers to expedite new opportunities and sales.
- Identify and resolve client concerns and issues working collaboratively with necessary stakeholders affiliated with client.
- Prepare estimates and quotations as needed and requested.
- Prepare goals and call schedule to identify prospects and optimize visits.
- Follow-up on new leads and referrals from other sales departments and management.
- Maintain product knowledge and advise manager of educational requirements as needed.
- Maintain account services through regular visits, quality checks, audits and follow-up.
- Prepare account activity, quote status, follow-up notes on OMS company system and mileage reports.
- Communicate and share new product and service opportunities, special developments.
Qualifications:
- Full driver’s license in the province of their practice and clean driver’s abstract.
- Completion of a college, university program or vocational certificate.
- Three or more years of proven sales experience.
- Previous Healthcare industry knowledge is an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
Skills:
- Accountable and able to drive results through engagement and leadership.
- Demonstrate customer service excellence.
- Able to formulate, prioritize and execute to achieve desired sales results.
- Professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written, electronic and verbal communication skills.
- The position is physically demanding (i.e. lifting, standing, and climbing) therefore the individual must have the ability to transport multiple wheelchairs in a vehicle.
