About the role

We are seeking a dynamic individual with exceptional leadership skills to join our Engineering, Parks & Environment Department. You will report to the Deputy Director Infrastructure Management in this key position and will lead Section Managers and unionized staff who are responsible for the operations, maintenance and construction of water, sanitary sewer, drainage, solid waste, streets and management of our fleet.
You will possess considerable related municipal engineering experience in a supervisory and administrative capacity. Your demonstrated success in progressive leadership positions is essential; along with an understanding of the principles of asset management, and outstanding organizational, planning and, strategic analysis skills. Strong team leadership and superior communication and interpersonal skills, a high work ethic and the demonstrated ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with the public and City Council will ensure your success in this role.
Preference will be given to applicants who possess a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in civil engineering along with professional status. An equivalent combination of education and experience, along with a proven track record will be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Asset Management software along with familiarity with GIS and AutoCad are required.
You are known for your strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, project management expertise, superior communication and interpersonal skills and for your reputation as an excellent manager and leader.
During the recruitment process, applicants will be requested to provide a current Police Information Check (PIC).
The City of North Vancouver offers offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package for this exempt position, including a compressed work schedule. The salary range is $141,540 to $165,348 annually (2024 rates). Salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience an internal parity.
