Responsibilities About the role: Responsible for the preparation and monitoring of general ledger accounting reconciliations and reporting, including the supervision of associated Portfolio Accountants. Provide timely and accurate financial reports assigned.

  • Review and approve monthly G/L account reconciliations, ensuring balances are properly aged and completed within Corporate GL timelines. Ensure accounts have been reconciled to subledger (where applicable) with all discrepancies fully investigated and explained. Ensure reconciliation tracker (BlackLine) is updated, indicating reconciliation completion and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Review, approve, and post month-end journal entries with proper supporting schedules and required sign-offs.
  • Ensure all standard month-end checklist entries are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support routine and ad hoc data analysis for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Review monthly financial reports for accuracy, reasonability, and completeness of accruals, ensuring supporting data aligns with operating systems and the General Ledger.
  • Provide guidance, training, and oversight to the GL accounting team on reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting standards.
  • Maintain company standards, ensure policy compliance, and escalate issues to AVPs as needed.
  • Complete performance appraisals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet departmental requirements.
  • Handle miscellaneous tasks including ad hoc reporting and departmental support

  • Strong mathematical skills and proficiency with MS Office.

Experience

  • At least five years experience in an accounting or financial analyst role, preferably with, or working towards an Accounting Designation
  • Previous supervisory experience in the accounting field is desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word) skills.
  • Auto Suite and/or Oracle ERP experience preferred.
  • 3 yrs college accounting program or university degree in business preferred
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • Professional Certification in Accounting designation or working towards preferred

This posting is for a vacancy. The base range for this role is: $75,000-$125,000

The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits after 30 days of employment.
