NAC is currently seeking an Intermediate HSE Advisor to join our Water Pollution Control Plant in Kemptville, ON, as well as various projects across the Ottawa, ON region.
Position Summary Reporting to the HSE Director , the HSE Advisor guides, supports and oversees the Project’s HSE management and performance. Working with project management to achieve HSE objectives and ensure a safe working environment. Eliminating and/or reducing HSE risks as well as capitalizing on HSE improvement opportunities. Fulfilling contract and regulatory HSE requirements.
Job Description:
Provide HSE guidance, support and oversight to the Project and its personnel Act as the Project’s HSE subject matter expert Manage and lead the HSE portfolio at the project’s work planning and execution processes Foster hazard assessment and control for site tasks and activities Lead HSE orientation and training delivery Coordinate HSE communication and, as required, liaison with external agencies Lead and coordinate HSE inspections Investigate and report HSE incidents Generate and report Project-level HSE statistics and performance indicator Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior HSE Advisor and/or HSE Director
Requirements:
Education: college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent Ability to interpret and apply Provincial Health & Safety legislation and standards Effective computer software skills (MS Office Suite) Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with others Proven leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills, in dealing with a wide range of individuals and issues Valid WHMIS, First Aid (Valid Standard First Aid C or higher), and other Health and Safety training certificates are an asset (i.e. incident investigation, confined space entry, any train-the-trainer certifications) Valid driving license and reliable transportation Ability to travel between projects in Ottawa area
