About The Role The Product and Proposal Manager plays a key role in supporting commercialization, proposal development, and product lifecycle activities for Next Hydrogen’s electrolyzer product portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and operating within a matrixed structure, this role works closely with Sales, Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and external partners.

This position blends technical understanding with commercial execution. The Product and Proposal Manager is responsible for coordinating proposals, maintaining product and cost roadmaps, supporting product strategy, and contributing to cross-functional initiatives that advance business growth and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Product Portfolio & Strategy Support

  • Support the development and maintenance of the electrolyzer product portfolio and product strategy
  • Manage and update product roadmaps, including performance, technology, cost, and feature evolution
  • Contribute commercial insights to product development discussions, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market opportunities
  • Provide PLM support to Project and Program Managers by identifying barriers and enabling progress on product roadmap delivery

Proposal Development & Commercial Support

  • Lead and coordinate the development of budgetary and commercial proposals for electrolysis systems and related technologies
  • Manage proposal timelines, ensuring inputs are collected and documents are completed on schedule
  • Maintain a structured proposal documentation system to ensure consistency, version control, and quality
  • Support Sales with pricing inputs, technical content, and custom configurations
  • Participate in the development of customer-facing presentations, business cases, and commercial materials

Sales Pipeline & CRM Management

  • Maintain and update Next Hydrogen’s CRM system, ensuring accuracy of opportunity data and stage definitions
  • Generate sales pipeline reports for the CCO, Sales leadership, and Executive team on a regular basis
  • Track key metrics related to opportunity progression, proposal volume, and revenue visibility

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively across Sales, Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance to support commercial objectives
  • Support cross-functional product initiatives, including strategic partnerships, launch planning, and application evaluations
  • Provide input into stage-gate reviews for new product and technology development activities
  • Participate actively in commercial team meetings and contribute insights for market, customer, and product discussions

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

  • Contribute to product lifecycle reviews with a focus on business case development, customer needs alignment, and market competitiveness
  • Support cost roadmap development, including tracking of cost drivers and inputs from engineering and supply chain
  • Assist in evaluating the technical, operational, and commercial feasibility of new product concepts and customer applications

Qualifications Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical or commercial discipline.
  • Academic or professional interest in clean energy, hydrogen, or industrial technologies is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in product management, proposal development, commercial operations, or a related technical-commercial role.
  • Experience in hydrogen, cleantech, energy, industrial systems, or electrochemical technologies is an asset.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in technical, commercial, or product development environments.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CRM tools, and document management platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical content into clear, customer-facing materials.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while thriving in a collaborative, matrixed structure.
  • Highly detail-oriented, customer-focused, and proactive.
  • Strong business judgment, curiosity, and willingness to learn technical subject matter.
