Responsibilities
As a Technical Sales Representative, you will act as a trusted technical partner to our customers. This role blends technical knowledge, customer service, and consultative sales, supporting customers throughout the lifecycle of their equipment. You will work closely with OSB producers to: Provide technical support and application guidance Identify opportunities for aftermarket parts, upgrades, and retrofits Translate customer needs into clear technical and commercial proposals This position involves regular travel to customer sites across Canada, the United States, and internationally, where you will interface with maintenance teams, engineers, and plant leadership. Build and maintain strong customer relationships On a regular basis, review customer history with the sales and service departments and plan mill visits using a systematic approach Define scope for machine retrofits, upgrades, and spare parts Prepare accurate technical quotations with cross‑functional teams Provide on‑site and remote technical support as required Communicate and track order deadlines with KCD sales, service, manufacturing, and key stakeholders Document customer interactions and project details professionally When appropriate, provide customers with a follow-up letter summarizing key observations and recommended actions A willingness to learn and maintain expertise across all KCD equipment and systems
Qualifications
History of technical support and sales experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; customer-focused and consultative Mechanical aptitude towards industrial equipment Functional knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems Able to clearly explain technical concepts to diverse audiences Highly organized with strong attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (including the U.S.) Committed to continuous learning and improvement Considered Assets Post-secondary technical training in a related field such as mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, wood manufacturing, and similar. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Technical role in OSB, wood products, engineered wood industry, or related industry Manufacturing and/or maintaining machinery Industrial field service or maintenance experience ERP system experience, preferably Epicor Job Type & Schedule Full-time, Permanent Monday–Friday, daytime hours Travel 1-2 times per month, may include weekends Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary, negotiable based on experience Opportunities for career growth and advancement Extended Health, Dental, Disability, Life Insurance & AD&D (after 3 months) RRSP matching program (after 6 months) Employee Assistance Program Company events and team activities Casual dress code On-site parking
