**Project Manager (IT) – Intermediate (12 month contract)

Location: Edmonton, AB/ Remote

Staffing Placement Opportunity** Role Overview We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager responsible for coordinating and delivering IT projects from initiation through completion. The role involves overseeing project activities, establishing timelines, assigning tasks, and tracking progress to ensure project objectives are achieved.

The Project Manager will maintain strong working relationships with project teams, vendors, and cross-departmental stakeholders while providing clear updates and status reports to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project charters and business/project plans to support project activities and ensure business objectives and data integrity are achieved.
  • Manage projects that document business requirements and deliver IT solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Assist in developing recommendations including resource requirements, dependencies, policy considerations, and delivery methodologies.
  • Prepare and present project deliverables to internal teams, steering committees, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects, project resources, and project governance structures.
  • Work with project sponsors to ensure clear project communication throughout the project lifecycle, including escalation of risks when required.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, risks, benefits, resource requirements, and budgets.
  • Establish project governance structures with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and report project status against milestones, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Identify and manage risks and issues while ensuring timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, estimate resource requirements, and monitor work plans.
  • Provide guidance to project team members to ensure timely delivery of project tasks.
  • Develop supporting documentation, including requirements documentation when needed.
  • Evaluate project outcomes with project sponsors and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support change management and communication activities across project teams.
  • Follow established project management standards and collaborate with the project management office to refine standards when necessary.

Education Candidates Must Meet One Of The Following Requirements

  • University degree in business, management, or a related discipline with 4 years of project management experience, OR
  • Two-year diploma in business, management, or a related discipline with 6 years of project management experience, OR
  • One-year certificate in business, management, or a related discipline with 7 years of project management experience, OR
  • 6 years of project management experience.

Required Experience

  • Experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders – 5 years
  • Experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs, dashboards, and project closure reports – 6 years
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently – 6 years
  • Experience overseeing and implementing EXTERN Domain Decommission projects – 2 years
  • Experience overseeing and implementing SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Online migration projects – 2 years
  • Experience overseeing and implementing Source Code migration to GitHub projects – 2 years

Desired Skills

  • Experience conducting and interpreting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios – 6 years
  • Experience coordinating large-scale information management or IT initiatives involving vendors and multiple stakeholders – 3 years
  • Experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels – 6 years
  • Experience leading change management and communication planning – 6 years
  • Experience providing leadership with understanding of stakeholder environments, business functions, and information requirements – 4 years
  • Experience working in large public sector organizations or similarly complex environments in Canada – 3 years
