About the role
Kane Veterinary Supplies is a Canadian wholesale distributor and manufacturer agent, providing excellence in distribution of the highest quality, cutting-edge, value-laden products to the pet retail, veterinary, agricultural, and equine markets across Canada. Responsibilities
- Design digital and printed materials for new product packaging, trade exhibits, displays, promotional, marketing, website, social media and other channels while ensuring effectiveness and consistency across all design projects.
- Apply style/brand guides to existing distributor & retailer marketing materials.
- Work collaboratively with department heads to ensure designs communicate the desired message.
- Research and provide recommendations based on best practices as well as industry and consumer trends.
- Proof all graphics and marketing projects for accuracy.
- Assist in coordinating and maintaining a library of graphics, media, digital records, and other product content.
- Develop innovative design solutions.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and priorities with short timeframes and at times under high pressure
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent related experience
- Experience: Website design would be an asset
- In-depth knowledge of design related software applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat).
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of graphic design: layout, typography, colour theory and production processes.
- Computer skills including MS Office and email at a highly proficient level.
- Strong understanding of how to integrate creativity throughout many channels (print & digital)
- Excellent personal initiative, organizational, presentation and project management skills.
- Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback.
- Positive energy, problem solving, self-starter, results oriented, proactive individual with a high sense of urgency
- An openness to try new things and push the creative envelope.
- Able to work independently as well as in an open office team environment.
