As the Accounts Receivable Team Lead, you will oversee and support the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Receivable function across multiple business divisions within our waste and recycling organization. You’ll lead a small, high-performing team to ensure accurate billing, timely collections, and strong customer relationships that support the company’s financial health and growth.
Position Description
- Manages and coordinates the overall financial administration of the assigned division(s).
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 2–3 Accounts Receivable professionals to achieve departmental goals and performance targets.
- Oversee daily Accounts Receivable operations, ensuring efficient and accurate processes.
- Manage the customer onboarding process, including setup and data maintenance within business systems such as Navusoft, Business Central, and Material Manager.
- Supervise the billing process across multiple divisions, ensuring invoices are issued accurately and on time in line with service contracts.
- Monitor and manage Accounts Receivable aging, ensuring prompt follow-up on overdue balances.
- Reconcile customer accounts, apply payments, resolve discrepancies, and communicate payment details in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through clear, professional communication.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency and enhance accuracy in the AR function.
- Manage the month-end closing process for Accounts Receivable, including reporting and reconciliation activities.
- Collaborate with operational teams to address and resolve AR-related issues.
- Ensure the team meets collection targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Uphold compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and internal controls.
Skills & Qualifications
- Final year of CPA studies or CPA designation.
- Proven experience in Accounts Receivable or credit control, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of billing, collections, and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in relevant accounting systems (e.g., Navusoft, Business Central, Material Manager).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience in the waste and recycling industry is advantageous but not essential.
