Cando Community School

Cando Community School is located in the Hamlet of Cando. Our school has a Kindergarten to Grade 12 program, attended by students from the Red Pheasant Cree First Nation, Mosquito First Nation, and surrounding areas. This posting is for a Casual Caretaker to fill in vacancies throughout the school year on a call-in basis. Hours of work and shift length may vary,Living Sky School Division casual Caretakers are responsible for the cleaning, sanitization and maintenance of their assigned facility to ensure a safe and healthy environment for student body, staff and visitors entering the school.

The Right Person will

  • Be able to plan, prioritize, communicate and self-manage
  • Have excellent communication skills; and
  • Be enthusiastic and thrive in a team environment.
  • Genuinely appreciate working with children and youth.
  • A Fireman’s Certificate or WHMIS would be considered an asset.

Education Administration Programs

Living Sky School Division encompasses a wide geographic area including the Battlefords, many communities, villages, First Nation communities, and Hutterite colonies. We are located in the heart of wheat and oil country.

Currently, 28 schools are located in 19 communities. Our schools include PreK-12, elementary, high schools, and alternate schools with a population of approximately 5,300 students. Our diverse student population is reflected in a wide variety of programs that exist throughout the schools to meet the guidelines of the Saskatchewan Core Curriculum and the local needs of the community.

Our intent is always to produce strong citizens through the excellent and relevant educational experience of our students. Our schools prepare students to be capable and open-minded individuals. Our goal is to graduate well-rounded individuals with a high potential for success and leadership. At the heart of improving student achievement is the need to focus on relationship building through providing exceptional customer services experience for our students, parents, and community members.
